GHOST Announces '2 Big To Rig (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)'

GHOST has announced the release of the "2 Big To Rig Original Motion Picture Soundtrack", the audio companion to the second feature film from the Grammy-winning theatrical rock icons. Available to stream or download August 27 via Loma Vista Recordings, "2 Big To Rig (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)" is preceded by a carnally charged live rendition of "Umbra" featuring Papa V Perpetua and the nameless ghouls delivering the cowbell-driven penultimate track of the international No. 1 album "Skeletá" to ecstatic capacity crowds in Mexico City.

Captured live over the course of two sold-out shows at Mexico City's Palacio De Los Deportes that drew nearly 40,000 fans to partake in the GHOST live ritual, "2 Big To Rig" is a reference to GHOST calling an end to its unforgettable "Skeletour" world tour in February 2026. The film was made with the intention to share the "Skeletour" experience with the faithful in the territories where staging the show was not logistically feasible — as well as for the fans featured in the film who had tickets for the first of three planned Mexico City dates, which became two after night one was canceled due to illness.

"2 Big To Rig" is a love letter to all those who have shared the GHOST ritual, in-person or otherwise. Presented in IMAX where available, the feature-length concert film is both a must for those looking to relive their "Skeletour" memories and for those witnessing the spectacle for the first time. The charismatic Papa V and his supremely talented coven of nameless ghouls have never looked or sounded better than they do here, ripping through material from GHOST's six albums — including 2025's global No. 1 "Skeletá" — including live renditions of hits "Satanized" and "Lachryma" — as well as non-LP favorites including "Mary On A Cross", "Kiss The Go-Goat" and "The Future Is A Foreign Land".

In a recent interview with Metal Hammer magazine, GHOST mastermind Tobias Forge reflected on the severe case of food poisoning which forced the cancelation of the first of three shows in Mexico City were due to be filmed for "2 Big To Rig". He said: "We flew into Mexico City five days before, just to get acclimatized to the elevation and jet lag. Everything was dandy, and then came the show day. I woke up and felt weird. It takes about an hour to go from the hotel to the venue, and throughout that whole trip, I just slept. I thought I was just tired. When I came to the venue, I couldn't stomach anything — everything was just flowing through me — and for every hour that went by, I was getting more and more drained. And then, all of a sudden, I started puking violently. Everything, just, 'Out, out, out!' Everyone's getting super-nervous: not only is the show dependent on this, but we also have a film depending on this! Fuck!"

Forge went on to say that that his inability to stand left him with no other option but to scrap the first Mexico City show.

"Even if you get me up onstage, I will not be able to sing," he explained. "Then you just have to do the rational thing: 'Fuck this, we need to pull the plug.' The rest of the evening, I was just lying on a stretcher with intravenous liquid going in. And then you have to handle the defeat and hope for people to understand."

Fortunately, GHOST's second and third Mexico City performances were able to go ahead as planned, and the band adjusted its "2 Big To Rig" filming plans so that GHOST could take footage from the other two shows.

"Luckily, Amir [Chamdin, '2 Big To Rig' director] is a very controlled, very nice person," Forge said. "He was like, 'Just relax, we'll figure it out', and the next day I felt better and ready to do it. So we had to deal with what we got, but obviously, it goes without saying: 'We better not fuck up now!' If you're going to go up and do that thing, you need to nail it."
